Medavie Blue Cross has selected Thunderhead's Thunderhead NOW platform to revamp its customer communications and improve overall customer care.

With a 65-plus year history, the not-for-profit insurance company based in New Brunswick, provides health, travel, life and income replacement products to group and individual customers, and administers government-sponsored health programs in Canada. Medavie Blue Cross selected Thunderhead NOW to enhance its document assembly and letter writing capabilities in part due to the platform’s modern, standards-based open architecture.

Thunderhead NOW will provide Medavie Blue Cross with the ability to integrate multiple databases and enterprise content management (ECM) solutions, without being locked into one system, the company says.

The business user-centric design of Thunderhead NOW also provides Medavie Blue Cross with increased agility to respond to changes in market conditions and reduce IT dependency. According to the vendor, using a browser-based interface, Thunderhead NOW enables employees at every departmental level to create and deliver correspondence in a timely and relevant manner. In addition, Thunderhead NOW supports Medavie Blue Cross’ bilingual requirements, including output in French as well as English.

“Many health insurance organizations are looking for ways to better engage with and service their customers in the face of an increasingly competitive market,” says Glen Manchester, CEO of Thunderhead. “We are excited that Medavie Blue Cross has selected Thunderhead NOW to carry its customer communications into the future with our award-winning, multi-channel communications platform.”

Looking to the future, Medavie Blue Cross hopes to take advantage of Thunderhead’s multi-channel capabilities to reduce print costs in its customer communications. Thunderhead NOW’s one-platform-for-all-communications approach is designed to enable organizations to deliver contextually relevant content across all emerging channels, including the Web, e-mail, RSS, text messages and social networking sites.
