Jonathan Jackson is CEO of Previsico, shared insights into the company and the technology it's using. Responses have been lightly edited.

What's the origin story of the company?
Previsico is surface water flood forecasting specialists enabling people and organizations to minimize the impact of flooding. Underpinned by two decades of research at Loughborough University, Previsico's solution is used by insurers, businesses and government to reduce losses. Our mission is to be the leading global provider of cutting-edge flood prediction that saves lives and livelihoods whilst significantly reducing the cost of flooding.
When was it founded and/ or when was the product launched?
We launched in January 2019. We have a growing team of 50 people with offices in Loughborough, London, Hong Kong and the U.S.
Can you tell me about the founders / founding team?
Professor Dapeng Yu is co-founder and chief scientific officer at Previsico. He has spent 20 years building a unique real-time, property-level surface water flood forecasting model.
I am the CEO of Previsico.
