MetLife Auto and Home has launched a mobile application for its usage-based insurance program, My Journey.

The mobile program is available in four states, Michigan, New Jersey, Utah, and Wisconsin. The app, which was developed in partnership with insurtech company TrueMotion, tracks total miles driven, time of day, road type and conditions, hard braking and harsh acceleration, and phone-based distracted driving, in order to arrive at a score for each trip. Enrollment is worth a 10% discount; after six months, the discount can be as high as 30% if drivers' scores are satisfactory.
