Millers Mutual, a commercial P&C insurer, named Scott A. Orndorff as president and CEO, succeeding Bob Lyon. Orndorff has served in senior leadership roles at several insurance companies, helping grow premium revenues and drive operating improvements.
As a senior executive with Westfield Insurance Co., Orndorff provided strategic and operational leadership for a specialty division focused on workers compensation, agribusiness and transportation, Millers said. Prior, he was COO for a mutual insurer, where he was responsible for all aspects of the insurance operation. These included underwriting, claims, risk control, information systems, marketing and customer service. Most recently, he worked for a large insurance agency, building specialty programs and alternative risk-transfer mechanisms.
Orndorff started his insurance career in claims, working with both national and regional carriers. He has experience with a reinsurer, providing coverage for mutual companies.
