Mortgage Insurer MGIC Hires new CISO from U.S. Bancorp

Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corporation (MGIC) has appointed Bill Walker as its new vice president and chief information security officer, part of several staff changes the company has announced this week.

Walker arrives at MGIC after two plus years at U.S. Bancorp as senior director of enterprise information security. In his past, Walker also served as chief information security officer for Ball Aerospace & Technologies Corp, the University of Colorado and the Brunswick Corporation.

"Having come from a large banking institution, Bill brings an important perspective to MGIC's information security team," said Greg Chi, senior vice president and chief information officer at MGIC. "This combined with his extensive experience in leading information security efforts made him the perfect fit for our company as we explore ways for our information security to support future growth."

MGIC also promoted Geoffrey Cooper to vice president of product development, Peter Semenak to vice president of underwriting and Bryan Specht to VP of policy acquisition & servicing. Each has over 20 years of experience in the mortgaging industry.
