The Motorists Insurance Group has tapped Saama Fluid Analytics Engine to help with a customer retention initiative.
Motorists wanted to manage auto insurance by state in order to determine drivers of customer retention. This involved accessing and analyzing customer data stored across disparate systems -- often legacy environments that required special skills.
“In today’s disruptive environment, it’s important that a carrier differentiate itself not only by providing the best service and product, but also by establishing lifelong relationships with its customers,” said Bob Weishaar, VP and chief analytics officer for Motorists. “The speed with which we will be able to understand our customer needs based on insights from the [insurance-specific modern analytcs platform] ... will help us to leapfrog the competition.”
Saama’s technology helps insurers build an architecture to access structured and unstructured data from all kinds of inputs, according to the company.
“We believe that analysts, underwriters and actuaries gaining direct access to the available data in native format in a self-service mode is a game changer,” says Sanjeev Kumar, VP of Saama’s Insurance Practice. “They are able to surface and experiment with new data sources and combinations of data objects, increasing the competitive edge for their companies.”
