Mt. Logan Re Ltd., Everest Re Group Ltd.’s special purpose reinsurer, has appointed David Whiting to the position of chief underwriting officer.

Mt. Logan says Whiting most recently was employed by Torus Insurance (Bermuda) Ltd. He has 28 years of reinsurance underwriting experience, having held senior positions at insurers and reinsurers including Swiss Re, Centre Re, Zurich Insurance Group and the Hartford Insurance Group.
Whiting is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries, the Society of Property and Casualty Underwriters and the Professional Liability Underwriting Society. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst.
