National Western Life has incorporated ACORD 103, the first FAST component built using the FAST 8x framework. The component is designed to automate the process for life and annuity applications using its Web services, external communications, business rules and security functions, according to FAST.

“This is a great first success in our relationship with FAST,” added Michael Hydanus, SVP and chief administrative officer, National Western Life. “I am looking forward to continued meaningful accomplishments over the next eighteen months. Stay tuned.”

The program can be used with the Microsoft BizTalk platform, and FAST said it plans to also have the program support IBM WebSphere Process Server in the future.
