Nautilus Creates Ops Position, Gets Claims Head from Scottsdale

Nautilus Insurance Group, an excess and surplus lines provider owned by W.R. Berkley, has created a new role around special projects.

Former SVP of claims Michael Kilgas has moved into the role as SVP of special projects and operations. A veteran of the company since 1987, Kilgas will "oversee multiple projects within the Company, as well as have involvement with driving operational objectives," according to a Nautilus statement.

Taking over his claims role is Thomas Joyce, who has been named SVP of claims. He last served as VP of claims operations at Scottsdale Insurance Company.

“Mike has provided Nautilus many years of dedicated service as Senior Vice President of Claims, and I look forward to his leadership in this newly formed role,” said Tom Kuzma, President and CEO of Nautilus. “Additionally, I welcome Thomas to the Nautilus management team and am confident that with his expertise, our Claims Department will continue to reflect the highest industry standards.”
