Northwestern Mutual Opens Washington D.C. Office

Washington — The Washington Group of the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network opened a new office in Washington, D.C.

The D.C. Financial Group, a district network office of The Washington Group, will serve customers in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area, including northern Virginia, suburban Maryland and the District.

“Our success is based upon our ability to empower people to improve the lives of others,” says Leo Tucker, managing partner of The Washington Group, which has four other offices in the area, in Fairfax, Va., Leesburg, Va., McLean, Va., and Rockville, Md. “It’s exciting to be downtown,” he says. “We definitely belong here. The energy of our office matches the energy of the city.”

Kurt Rupprecht, will serve as managing director, and oversee all business operations of the new 2,500-square-foot office.

“This new office will allow our financial representatives to more effectively serve the clients in our community,” Rupprecht says. “With this new location, our clients and our financial representatives will be more efficient with their time, since the majority of our clients work in the metropolitan area and want to meet during the day.”

The Washington Group has approximately 80 financial representatives, adding 42 within the past year.

“We are going to concentrate on our D.C. office for now, with an eye toward expanding it within the next two years,” Tucker says. “The opportunity to grow in this market with our model is enormous.”
