On-demand insurtech Trov expands in U.S.

Trov, an on-demand insurtech for personal items supported by Munich Re, is expanding to four additional states.

The expansion follows Trov's launches in the UK and Australia, and its first U.S. launch -- in Arizona -- over the past few years. Trov will now be available for residents of Nevada, Delaware, South Dakota, and Wyoming.

Customers interested in insuring items like guitars or sports equipment can turn on and off coverage in the Trov mobile app. Premiums adjust each month based on the market value of the item.

"State government regulates insurance a little differently for their populace (as they should), so we’ve been adapting our tech platform and policies to comply with every state," Trov wrote in a blog post. "We have almost all state approvals."
