PIA Helps Agents Grasp Technology

The Professional Insurance Agents of Connecticut, New Hampshire, New Jersey and New York State are offering access to the PIA Technology Hotline, a new member-exclusive resource to help agents navigate the myriad technology options available for their businesses.

“In order to be successful in today’s crowded insurance marketplace, independent agents need the right tools to make them competitive,” said Diane Fowler, executive director, PIACT, PIANH, PIANJ and PIANY. “Agency technology solutions continue to evolve at a rapid pace; we recognized that our members need guidance in understanding and implementing new technologies. To that end, we developed the PIA Technology Hotline, an essential tool for members who want to make informed choices about technology for their businesses.”

This new service is available to address member questions concerning countless technology issues, including Real Time, download/upload, comparative rating, workflows, management systems, Web sites and more. Members are eligible for up to 30 minutes of free consultation time, when requested through PIA's Industry Resource Center, with two nationally recognized technology experts, Steve Anderson, editor of the TAAR Report, and Donna Barr, AIT, Donna Barr Consulting. They each bring PIA members the advantage of more than 20 years experience in agency/company technology.

“PIA is dedicated to enhancing continuously the services offered to members,” said Fowler. “The PIA Technology Hotline is just one of the many unique benefits that make the work of independent insurance agents easier.”

The hotline is just one of many benefits PIA offers members in the realm of agency technology. Other resources include:

* Technology Info Central, for the latest in news, survey results, tech tips and more.

* Upcoming PIA Lunch and Learn teleconference sessions, dedicated to users of specific management systems; and

* A comparative rating guide to help members navigate the multitude of rating software available.

Additional new services are in development to help members in the area of technology; details will be released as they become available in PIA publications.
