PIA Promotes New SVP

Washington — The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) announced the promotion of Ted Besesparis to SVP of communications. The announcement was made by PIA EVP & CEO Leonard Brevik.
 
“Ted is a talented and sophisticated communicator who has helped PIA maintain a high level of credibility throughout our industry,” says Brevik. “He makes sure that PIA’s point of view on our critical public policy issues is presented in a concise and powerful manner and that we consistently receive high-level media exposure and visibility. In addition, Ted has spearheaded many initiatives to enhance the public’s positive perception of our association’s members, such as our award-winning PIA Branding Program.”

Besesparis joined PIA in May 1995 after a career as a print and broadcast journalist at the local and national level. He was national editor for Standard News, a nationwide radio network and news wire service in Washington, where he served on the White House Press Pool. Previously, he was a news editor for Tribune Media Inc. and spent 14 years as a news anchor and radio talk show host in Palm Beach, Fla.
