At its annual meeting in San Diego this week, the
John Kuhn received the organization’s 2011 PLUS1 Award. Kuhn, chief underwriting officer at
Kuhn’s contributions to PLUS date back to 1995, and he served on the PLUS Board of Trustees from 2003 through 2009. He is a frequent speaker and attendee at the PLUS International Conference and the PLUS D&O Symposium.
The PLUS1 Award is given annually to an individual who has contributed substantively to the advancement of the image of the professional liability industry. It was first awarded in 1989.
Another award winner, Jeffrey Klenk, SVP at
Klenk has been an active member of PLUS since entering the professional liability insurance industry. A volunteer leader in the organization, he helped to found the Hartford Chapter of PLUS, helped start the PLUS EPL Symposium, served on the PLUS Board of Trustees from 2001 to 2007, and was elected PLUS president in 2006. Klenk is the current president of the PLUS Foundation, the philanthropic and community outreach arm of PLUS.
In his role as SVP at Travelers Bond & Financial Products, Klenk is responsible for the underwriting, strategy and overall product management of Travelers’ portfolio of liability and crime products. A recognized authority on employment practices liability, he has appeared on numerous broadcast programs and has been quoted extensively in periodicals including The Wall Street Journal.
Klenk is also a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences, both inside and outside the professional liability insurance industry.
The PLUS Founders Award is given annually to an individual who has made a lasting and outstanding contribution to PLUS. It was first awarded in 1994.
