Des Moines, Iowa - The Principal Financial Group has launched an online claim submission form for group long-term and short-term disability customers."Even a brief disability can be difficult to overcome, which is why we stress early intervention and ongoing claim communication throughout the process," says Cindy Ford, claims director, the Principal Financial Group. "Offering online submission is simply one more way we can expedite the process to ensure the best possible outcome for our members."
Insured employees can access the form at www.principal.com where they answer a series of questions about the cause of their disability and provide information about their current position. Once the form is complete, the employee can choose to submit the information directly over a secure, confidential Web site. The Principal will then evaluate the claim and begin disability management, providing employees access to services including rehabilitation, job analysis and modification, resume preparation and outplacement services.
"By using the online form, employees are one step closer to disability management professional resources who serve as a crucial component in helping employees return to work," says Ford. "With our hands-on approach to disability claims, 95% of our claimants report being satisfied or very satisfied with their overall experience and 75% of those receiving rehabilitation services return to work."
