QBE has named Sue Harnett as COO for its North America operations. Harnett will oversee the company's claims, information technology and corporate legal teams. She is based in New York City.
QBE says Harnett joins the company from Citigroup, where she headed the company's local consumer lending area, which included consumer mortgage, commercial real estate, auto loan, student loan and credit card businesses. She also directed global business performance management, focusing on productivity and customer satisfaction improvement for businesses in 40 countries.
In addition, Harnett served as Citigroup's director of retail operations, COO for retail banking, president of Citigroup Canada, and undertook key roles in the Netherlands and Belgium, before being named CEO of Citibank Germany, says QBE.
