RMS Names Chief Technology Officer

Catastrophe risk management firm RMS has announced it has appointed Cory Isaacson as the firms CTO. In this role, Isaacson will lead the development of RMS(one), an open exposure and risk management platform.

RMS(one) is a suite of technologies and tools designed to let companies in the insurance, reinsurance and insurance-linked securities industries run RMS next-generation HD catastrophe models, and also to implement their own models and access the models of a growing ecosystem of third party developers. The platform lets users express the full range of their exposures and contracts and implement their own analytics on a purpose-built and highly scalable cloud-based platform.

Isaacson joins RMS from CodeFutures Corporation, a big data analytics software development firm that has worked on the new design for the RMS(one) platform.

“Cory has more than twenty years’ experience with advanced software architectures, is recognized as one of the brightest innovators in the field of big data and analytic computing, and has a track record of building successful systems,” Hemant Shah, RMS co-founder and CEO, said. “Under Cory's leadership, RMS will deliver RMS(one) as the industry's first true exposure and risk management platform.”

As founder and CEO of CodeFutures, Isaacson created a big data platform designed to remove the complexity and limitations of current data management approaches. As RMS CTO, Isaacson reports to RMS CEO Hemant Shah, and is responsible for the integrated architecture of RMS(one) and leading the RMS(one) development program.

In addition to Isaacson, Chandler Hoisington has joined RMS as VP of engineering and will report to Isaacson, as will Paul Winsberg, SVP of software development. Isaacson will remain a director and advisor to CodeFutures.
