Room to Improve for Small Business Insurers

Houston we have a problem: The majority of small business decision-makers across the United States say it’s important to do business with tech-savvy insurers. However, nearly one-third of small business decision-makers don’t consider any insurance companies tech-savvy.

EMPLOYERS, a small-business insurer, commissioned a survey that sampled 500 owners or managers of small businesses with one to 99 employees.

Results revealed that 53% of small business decision-makers say it’s important to have business policies with an insurer they consider tech-savvy. The majority (81%) still prefer to purchase business insurance through their insurance agents. But, they still want their insurers to provide online policy management and payment tools.

· 59% indicate online customer service is important

· 50% desire online insurance quotes

· 55% want the ability to manage policies online

Last week, EMPLOYERS released a separate study investigating the desires of the different generational groups. Similar to their findings with small business decision-makers, many future entrepreneurs also will only be looking to do business with tech-savvy insurers. To learn more, click here.
