Seghers Named to Tennessee Insurance Exchange TAG

Mark Seghers, Connecture Inc.’s VP of business development for the broker market, will sit on the Agent/Broker Technology Advisory Group (TAG) for the Tennessee Insurance Exchange Planning Initiative , says Connecture, a provider of automation for health insurance distribution. According to the state of Tennessee, members of the TAG will provide expertise on specific analytical questions to help in the state’s insurance exchange planning process.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was designed to direct states to set up health insurance exchanges by Jan. 1, 2014, or allow their residents to participate in a federal exchange. These exchanges are intended to serve as an online marketplace for residents to shop for health insurance, compare rates and benefits, and ultimately enroll in their plans of choice. Connecture says the TAGs are Tennessee’s first step toward building a plan for implementation of these exchanges.

Seghers has worked in the health insurance industry for 23 years within health insurance carriers and vendors in the disciplines of technology, sales, marketing and operations of health insurance, having built a relationship network with hundreds of health insurance producers in the United States, says Connecture.
