SOA Software Joins Microsoft Alliance

Seattle - SOA Software, an Integrated SOA governance automation vendor, has joined Microsoft's Business Process Alliance. The Business Process Alliance will propel mainstream adoption of people-ready processes by offering customers a set of end-to-end solutions for automating business processes. SOA Software's Workbench and Service Manager products provide integrated SOA governance automation capabilities for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 and Internet Information Services (IIS).

SOA Software's products allow enterprise customers to govern the services, processes, policies, profiles, information, and the relationships between them. SOA Software's standards-based Workbench and Service Manager products integrate with Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 and Internet Information Services (IIS) to ensure the compliance, security, reliability and performance of the services they consume and expose, as a governed service platform.

"Our membership in Microsoft's Business Process Alliance is an important step for SOA Software," says Frank Martinez, executive VP of SOA Software. "Integrated SOA Governance automation and Microsoft products allow customers to confidently use BizTalk Server as a governed service platform to automate mission-critical processes in secure, reliable environments, and to expose automated processes to partners."

Through its integration with Workbench, BizTalk Server supports dynamic binding to services, endpoint resolution, policy implementation and policy enforcement. This ensures that business processes implemented using BizTalk Server are tolerant of changes to the services they consume and the policies defined by the enterprise. Without these capabilities, processes are fragile, and the true benefits of agility and flexibility promised by SOA remain elusive, reports SOA Software.

Workbench also provides a comprehensive service lifecycle governance solution. Its integrated lifecycle workflow and policy compliance validation capabilities ensure that BizTalk Server implements the right services for the enterprise at the right time.

SOA Software works with Microsoft products including BizTalk Server 2006 R2, .NET 3.0, Windows Workflow Foundation, SQL Server 2005, 2007 Office System, Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, IIS, Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, Active Directory and Certificate Server. The company worked closely with Microsoft throughout the inception and development of Microsoft's ESB Guidance Toolkit for BizTalk Server. The combination of BizTalk Server with SOA Software's Integrated SOA Governance automation products is designed to provide a cost effective, comprehensive ESB solution for commoditized business integration.

"We are working with SOA Software on a wide range of SOA initiatives to ensure that our business process management solutions meet the needs of enterprise customers," says Burley Kawasaki, director of product management in the Connected Systems Division at Microsoft. "SOA Software's standards-based integrated SOA Governance automation solutions help customers use our products to quickly implement security-enhanced, reliable business processes."
