Spireon Enters Insurance Telematics Market

Connected car technology company Spireon Inc. has entered the insurance telematics market with the launch of the Spireon NSpire platform, which the company describes as a set of tools, modules and programs designed to support customized telematics strategies.

The Spireon’s NSpire platform is device and vehicle agnostic, the company said, but the company also offers its complementary Always On technology, which offers a continuous view into driving data, enabling carriers to price for long-term driving behavior and extend data to FNOL and claims, the company said. Spireon’s policyholder app also integrates with the Always On data to connect carriers and policyholders through insights and feedback.

The Spireon NSpire platform is designed with a range of functionality, from feeding core data elements into a UBI project, to delivering turnkey programs for scoring, first notice of loss (FNOL) and claims, including fulfillment and policyholder support, the company said. The insurance telematics suite also includes select driving data, scoring, accident detection and FNOL, policyholder mobile app and telematics program management.
