The Hartford Enhances Benefits Web site

Hartford, Conn. - The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. enhanced The Hartford At Work Web site to enable employees covered by The Hartford's group benefits plans to more quickly and easily access their benefits information.A new, personalized log-in feature is one recent enhancement to the Web site (www.thehartfordatwork.com). The Web site has been updated with new tools for employees to set up direct deposit for payment of long-term disability claims, to use and print forms and to access personalized benefits account information.

"The Hartford At Work Web site has clicked with users since day one. They told us that they found the site helpful and easy to use. They also had great ideas on how to make it even better, and we incorporated that feedback into these recent updates," says Jay Menario, senior vice president and chief marketing officer of The Hartford's Group Benefits Division. "For nearly 200 years, The Hartford has been committed to providing its customers the insurance protection they need. These enhancements deliver on that promise by providing streamlined service."

The Hartford At Work Web site is designed to enable employees to understand and manage their benefits at their convenience. Using the secure site, according to The Hartford, customers can file a short-term disability claim, check on the status of an existing disability claim or check the status of an application for group life or disability insurance.

In addition, the Web site features tools designed to be helpful to all consumers--overviews of life, disability and accident insurance and a calculator to assess coverage needs.

Since its launch last October, the Web site has received more than 1.5 million visits by more than 325,000 users. "The popularity of The Hartford At Work Web site demonstrates our customers desire for easy and quick online services, and our web resources will continue to grow to meet their needs," Menario says.
