The Hartford Launches Real-Time Personal Lines Auto Rating

The Hartford Financial Services Group has made it easier  for agents to obtain a personal lines standard auto quote in minutes -- even as their customers wait for the answers. A major proponent of single entry multiple carrier interface (SEMCI) for personal lines business, The Hartford is one of the first carriers to implement this technology breakthrough that allows agents to connect directly with their carriers through AMS-Rackley's new SETWrite rating platform to obtain an accurate rate.

"We're keenly aware that independent agents want the flexibility to choose how they do their work, so we continue to introduce ways that make it easy for them to do business directly from their own systems. It's part of The Hartford's commitment to help agents deliver the highest quality of service to their customers," said Jonathan Bennett, senior vice president of The Hartford's Personal Lines Division.

To obtain a rate, the agent sends a personal auto quote request, using ACORD XML, to The Hartford. Immediately upon receipt of the request, the carrier performs the rating and returns the results directly to the agent's SETWrite rating platform.

"Personal insurance is an extremely competitive market and agents need to satisfy their customers' desire for speedy answers. By partnering with AMS, The Hartford can now offer agents the ability to get a reliable rate directly from the company in minutes," says Bennett.

The real-time rating feature adds to The Hartford's existing menu of eServices available to AMS users, including billing and claim inquiry, policy view, endorsement request processing and Carrier Passport.
