The Hartford Names Ritchey to Lead Retirement Plans

The Hartford Financial Services Group today announced that 2008 Women in Insurance Leadership award winner Sharon Ritchey has been named EVP of retirement plans, effective immediately. In her new role, Ritchey will oversee all aspects of the firm’s employer-sponsored retirement plans business, covering the corporate, public and education markets.

Ritchey previously was EVP and director of operations, technology and eBusiness for the The Hartford’s Wealth Management division. She succeeds 2009 Women in Insurance Leadership award winner Jamie Ohl, who is leaving The Hartford to pursue another opportunity.

“Sharon is a talented and results-oriented leader with a strong knowledge of our retirement plans business,” says David Levenson, president of The Hartford’s Wealth Management division. “I am confident that, under her leadership, this business will grow from our market leadership position as we continue to make investments in our service, product and distribution platform.”

Ritchey has more than 26 years of financial services industry experience, and has served in leadership roles across marketing, operations, service and technology. In her career, she has worked for Citibank, GE Capital and The Hartford, which she joined 1999. Prior to joining Hartford Life in 2007, Ritchey was SVP of property & casualty operations. In this role, she had responsibility for commercial and personal lines agency service, as well as sales and service for The Hartford’s affinity AARP Personal Lines program.
