Tokio Marine division hires new CIO, innovation leaders

Producers Ag Insurance Group, a part of the Tokio Marine HCC group of commercial insurance companies, has named Benji Borner CIO.

Borner is charged with leading ProAg’s technology team as it advances its digital presence and improves the digital customer experience. He comes from outside the industry, last serving as VP of customer loyalty technology at Aimia Inc, a marketing and loyalty program company. He also has worked at Carlson Marketing, which operates in the same realm.

The agriculture insurer also hired Scott Schaefers as SVP of marketing and innovation. He last was VP of strategic marketing for Travelers. Additionally, Becky Piechowski signs on as SVP of operations after stints at State Farm, Travelers and CUNA Mutual.

“We are very pleased to announce three new members of the ProAg family as we work to strengthen our organization, build agent relationships, better engage with our customers and lead with technology in the agriculture industry,” says Kendall Jones, ProAg’s president and CEO.

ProAg employs approximately 400 people supporting crop insurance operations in 41 states.
