UICI Addresses SOX, HIPAA Compliance

Global 360 (formerly eiStream), a Dallas-based provider of business process management (BPM) and analysis solutions, announced that UICI has chosen to leverage its existing Global 360 Enterprise BPM solution to meet Sarbanes Oxley and HIPAA compliance. UICI-Oklahoma City, a division of MEGA Life & Health Insurance Co., North Richland Hills, Texas, provides health, life and related insurance products targeted at the small business and self-employed markets.

To meet Sarbanes Oxley and HIPAA requirements, UICI needed a solution that provided management of various documents, tracking capabilities, version control and audit trails.  Global 360's solution is designed to integrate these key elements and streamline compliance efforts by automating the processes and storing the data used for financial reports, as well as the history of how that data was accumulated and changed, making it easily accessible.

UICI originally employed Global 360's BPM suite to automate its processes and create systematic workflow.  With Global 360's solution, UICI developed a highly efficient and streamlined process to handle the many documents and review steps required in processing insurance applications. Because of the efficiencies, automation and streamlined workflow enabled by Global 360, UICI grew close to 400% with only a small increase in staffing.
