Update: Bill Passed, Blues Look Forward

With President Obama’s signature on landmark health care reform likely before the end of the day, insurers are acclimating themselves to a new regulatory ecosystem.

Brett Lieberman, a spokesperson for the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, says that despite the fact that there are many provisions in the legislation that are worrisome, insurers will strive to make system work.

“The legislation that passed Congress is going to make significant changes to our health care system, but what is not going to change is our commitment to providing value and service to our 100 million members.” Lieberman tells Insurance Networking News. “We going to work with partners such as employers, providers and the government to make sure that this works for the American people.”
