WellPoint Inc., a health benefits company, has named Thomas Miller as CIO, effective May 1. Miller will be responsible for all information technology initiatives, with a focus on delivering secure, compliant and cost-effective technologies to WellPoint business capabilities.
Prior to joining WellPoint, Miller served as senior VP and CIO for Coca Cola Refreshments, WellPoint said. He also served in the concurrent role as CIO for the Coca Cola’s North America Group. AT Coca Cola, he held multiple positions including, general manager, program scale & VP, bottling investments; VP, business information systems operations; and CIO for the Europe, Eurasia & Middle East Group.
Miller is a charter board member and steering committee member of SAP’s Global Consumer Products Industry Advisory Council (CPAC), a charter board member of the Alliance for Freedom, Restoration and Justice, a 501(c)3 organization devoted to combating human trafficking; and was honored in 2010 as a Top Ten Visionary Leader by Consumer Goods Technology magazine, said WellPoint.
