UNITED AMERICA SELECTS POLICY ADMIN SOLUTION
Cayman Islands-based United America Indemnity Group Inc. selected Bolivar, Mo.-based Duck Creek Technologies Inc.'s Policy Administration Commercial ISO Lines Solution for commercial package policies (CPP), which includes commercial auto, commercial property, crime, inland marine and general liability. "With the Duck Creek configuration tools, we will easily be able to support a strong portfolio of new products, while taking advantage of the wealth of policy administration functionality and meeting our aggressive performance requirements. MILLENNIUM RE TO USE CROP (PERIL) MODELER
Boston-based AIR Worldwide Corp. (AIR) announced that Tokio Millennium Re Ltd., a Bermuda-based reinsurer, has licensed the AIR Multiple Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) model for use in AIR's CATRADER, an application for analyzing catastrophe reinsurance and insurance-linked securities.
The AIR MPCI model uses detailed weather observations over the course of past growing seasons along with the resulting crop yields to develop a current crop yield probability distribution for each modeled crop in each county, which is more accurate than other modeling approaches. For major crops in the United States, the model generates a catalog of 10,000 potential year-end outcomes, including crop yields at county resolution and individual crop prices.
The AIR crop event catalog captures the yield correlations between crops and neighboring counties to capture the effects of weather events, such as droughts.
