STONERIVER SIGNS KINGSWAY AMERICA
StoneRiver, a Brookfield, Wis., provider of technology and strategic solutions for the insurance industry, reports that Kingsway America Inc. (KAI), Elk Grove, Ill., has signed a contract to implement StoneRiver PRO Financial solutions across seven U.S. subsidiaries.
Kingsway America Inc. is a holding company for the U.S. insurance subsidiaries of Canada-based Kingsway Financial Services. Kingsway America writes specialty personal auto and select commercial auto products through a large network of independent agents. The KAI Group of Cos. includes: American Country Insurance Co., American Service Insurance, Hamilton Risk Management Co., Kingsway America, Mendota Insurance Co., Southern United Fire Insurance and Universal Casualty Co.
A long-time StoneRiver customer, the insurer sought an enterprise-level system to support the build-out of a centralized shared finance department, reports Laurie Stanek, finance transformation program manager of Kingsway America. "We chose StoneRiver because we were already well satisfied with their PTE Financial systems. Their PRO Financial suite met all our needs and we were confident that the project team could meet our aggressive timeline."
JACKSON, CSC STRIKE DEAL FOR BUSINESS ANALYTICS
Insurance technology solution provider CSC announced that Jackson National Life Insurance Co. of Lansing, Mich., has licensed CSC's Business Analytics software to access and analyze business intelligence information from its multiple financial services systems. As one of the nation's top individual annuity writers, Jackson will use the software to track key metrics and proactively address rapidly changing market conditions, says the company.
Falls Church, Va.-based CSC introduced Business Analytics, which leverages SAP BusinessObjects XI solutions, to life insurance and annuity providers in May 2009. Jackson is the first company in this market to license the product, which comes with pre-built visual, interactive dashboards and insurance-specific analytical reports that can be used in all Jackson subsidiaries.
Under the terms of the agreement, the software will be integrated with Jackson's current systems, including CSC's CyberLife policy administration system and PerformancePlus, an incentive compensation management system.
Business Analytics is part of CSC's Insurance Optics family of business intelligence solutions.
AMFAM SELECTS CORRELSENSE SHAREPATH SYSTEM
Correlsense, a New York-based provider of IT Reliability solutions, announced that American Family Mutual Insurance has selected the Correlsense SharePath solution, designed to ensure peak performance and availability of the insurance company's online insurance quoting system.
"American Family Insurance strives to offer our customers a productive and rewarding online experience," says Barbara Johnson, capacity planning manager for American Family Insurance. "Consumers go to insurance sites for a number of reasons, including insurance quotes. Maintaining a quality customer experience as we implement new technological enhancements is of critical importance to American Family."
SharePath is used by enterprises to monitor business transactions, rapidly pinpoint and solve performance problems and gain unprecedented insights from detecting the correlation of end-user experience, applications, infrastructure and business processes, Correlsense says.
Additionally, SharePath is intended to work in concert with the other system and performance management tools already in place at American Family, which typically are focused on identifying problems at individual components (servers, databases, etc.), to provide a complete business transaction perspective that can be used for both proactive planning and problem resolution.
MUTUAL OF OMAHA NOW LIVE WITH FINEOS CLAIMS
Dublin, Ireland-based FINEOS Corp. announced the successful go-live of its FINEOS Claims solution at Mutual of Omaha (MoO), an Omaha, Neb.-based provider of full-service, multi-line insurance and financial services products. MoO will use the system to manage claims operations for its group employee benefits products, including short- and long-term disability products.
Kathy Brown, director of group insurance claims at Mutual of Omaha, welcomed the go-live. "We are very pleased that FINEOS Claims has been successfully deployed. We believe we now have the platform for a best-in-class solution that supports our growing lines of business, positions us to deliver a more efficient claims process and maintains the exceptional levels of service that MoO customers have come to expect."
FINEOS Claims replaces an in-house legacy system previously in place at MoO. It presents information to claims managers and administrators in a comprehensive, easy-to-navigate system, the company says. The solution is built to deliver rules-driven business process management capabilities, which allow Mutual of Omaha's business users the flexibility to make changes or modify processes as their workflows evolve and are optimized, the company says. The FINEOS Claims solution is built on the FINEOS Insurance Platform which encompasses the FINEOS service-oriented architecture (SOA).
