Willis Re, Measure Form Insurance Drone Analytics Partnership

Reinsurer Willis Re has announced a new partnership with technology company Measure to boost drone usage among clients and the insurance industry as a whole.

Drones have become a popular method for accessing real-time data among insurers, allowing them to collect more timely and accurate information to support the claims process and understand the factors that lead to property damage. Overall, integrating aerial data from drone technology is said to improve risk assessment and response times to customers, according to an America Red Cross study “Drones for Disaster Response and Relief Operations”, published in April and cited by the companies.

“Drone technology has the potential to completely transform the insurance industry. There is a huge opportunity for the use of drones to improve public safety and enhance damage estimates, and incorporating drone usage into the insurance process is the next big step,” said Alice Underwood, executive vice president and director of analytics at Willis Re North America. “With market demand for access to drone technology increasing, this new partnership with Measure opens the door for Willis Re clients to efficiently integrate the latest drone technology into their operations.”
