AIG Benefit Solutions Appoints Key Leaders

AIG Benefit Solutions, the group benefits division of American International Group Inc. (AIG), is expanding with the fulfillment of several key leadership roles.

Susan Kenney Cotter, head of product, previously was VP of marketing and products for Colonial Life, where she developed a strategy for a portfolio of disability, life and supplemental health products with a consumer-focused approach.

Arthur Drake, head of transformation management, was AIG’s global head of operations development. He oversaw development and implementation of the AIG framework, and was responsible for the design, implementation and operations of AIG’s Global O&S Operations Council. Before joining AIG in 2008, he held positions for Pacific Telesis (now AT&T).

Deanna Osmonson, head of compliance, previously was VP and compliance officer with American General Life Co.s, which she joined in 1981 through the Franklin Life Insurance Co. She has held various compliance roles at Franklin, VALIC and AGLC.

Lorena Weaver, head of information technology, previously was VP of the central project office with Allianz Life Insurance Co. She also spent 11 years with ING in roles of increased responsibility.

Thomas DeLuca will oversee human resources through his position as VP, human resources, SunAmerica Financial Group Benefit Solutions. He previously was director of human resources for Quest Diagnostics Inc. and has experience in HR leadership roles for several Fortress Investments portfolio companies, and for Cendant Corp.

AIG Benefit says the executive leadership team also includes John Snyder, head of strategic planning and interim head of employer distribution; David Friedly, head of underwriting; David Butterfield, head of affinity distribution & underwriting; Carol Whaley, head of finance; Laura Milazzo, head of operations; Steve Howard, head of marketing & communications; and Marc Herling, head of legal.
