AIG Taps Chase Exec as Enterprise IT Architect

AIG has added Hugh Tamassia as chief enterprise architect, effective October 3.

Tamassia is charged with designing an enterprise architecture to "effectively drive AIG’s IT priorities and company-wide strategic plan," the company says. He reports to AIG CIO Philip Fasano.

“Modernizing AIG’s technological infrastructure by establishing a consistent architecture across the company will advance our employees’ capabilities to serve customers and represent progress toward becoming a leaner, more profitable and focused insurer,” says Fasano. “Hugh is strongly suited to deliver on this task with an eye on long-term innovation, with his experience leading both extensive enterprise architecture efforts and key IT innovation initiatives within financial services, such as the foundational platforms that support some of the world’s most widely used mobile wallet applications.”

Tamassia last was CTO for consumer and community banking servicing technology for JP Morgan Chase.
