Amerisafe Inc., a specialty provider of hazardous workers' compensation insurance, has announced that Janelle Frost, currently the company's CFO, has been promoted to chief operating officer, effective May 15, 2013. Frost joined Amerisafe in 1992, and has been CFO since November 2008.
Frost will replace current president and COO Geoff Banta. In the same announcement, Amerisafe said Banta intends to retire in December 2014. Banta joined the company in 2003 and served as CFO during the company's initial public offering in 2005, as well as the company's secondary offering in 2006.
Amerisafe also announced Michael Grasher will replace Frost as CFO. Grasher is currently SVP, capital markets and investor relations of Fortegra Financial Corp., an insurance services company. Grasher is expected to join Amerisafe in May 2013.
