After incubation by American Family Insurance (AmFam), home maintenance and management company Fixle has launched in its own right.

Fixle performs these functions useful for home insurance:

  • Streamlines information collection by home inspectors.
  • Supports property managers with appliance inventory, reducing labor costs, extending how long appliances and systems last, and more.
  • Finds efficiencies for service providers and presents them with correct information.
  • Provides underwriting intelligence information to warranty and insurance companies
  • Provides homeowners with appliance information, including maintenance.

Fixle's co-founders, Dave Theus and Amanda Schulze, working with a strategy team, found a need for a solution to improve homeowners' interactions with household systems and appliances. The services technology company works with a variety of parties in the housing industry, including property managers, home inspectors, service technicians, warranty underwriters, insurance adjusters, homeowners, and integration partners.

"We saw an opportunity to bring greater value to the B2B sectors," Schulze, chief customer officer at Fixle, wrote in a response to questions. "By demonstrating commercial viability and attracting a diverse user base, we have strategically expanded into the B2B sector. Our partnerships with integration partners have further enhanced our platform's functionality."

American Family became a minority investor in Fixle at its founding, and will remain as one. Its backing, Schulze wrote, "granted Fixle access to crucial financial support, industry connections, and expertise. This support has laid a solid foundation for Fixle, empowering us to accelerate our growth trajectory and move forward with confidence."

In a press release, Dan Reed, managing director and president of American Family Ventures, AmFam's venture capital arm, said of Fixle, "Our support for Fixle's launch as an independent entity from AmFam reflects our confidence in their mission and the comprehensive solution they're bringing to the table. As a minority investor, we're not just investing in a company; we're investing in a vision that has already shown substantial interest in the market."
