Amica and IBM have teamed to to create an iOS application for the insurer's claims adjusters.
More than 170 adjusters will receive iPad Pros and iPhone 6s loaded with Claims Adjust, which allows adjusters to collect claims information digitally. It uses the devices' camera and voice recorder, for example, to capture visuals as well as audio statements from insureds at the time of claim.
"This process wasn't just about taking all the data from our different internal systems and making it available to adjusters on a mobile device," says Adam Kostecki, claims officer in Amica's claims executive department and a member of the enterprise innovation team. "It was about starting with our field adjusters and observing their daily work – to uncover opportunities to improve their productivity by taking advantage of the latest and greatest in mobile technology."
Amica expects the app will help recruit and retain adjusters who value a next-generation tech experience at work, the company says.
