Aviva Partners With Plug and Play

UK insurer Aviva is partnering with the Silicon Valley-based organization Plug and Play on the latter's insurance-focused startup accelerator.

Plug and Play's InsurTech program launches in September and hopes to attract up to 1,000 applications from startups looking to disrupt the insurance industry. Aviva will work with Plug and Play and other partners to select the most promising ideas. Up to 50 startups will work out of the Plug and Play headquarters to develop their initiatives.

Aviva, which has implemented a Digital First strategy, will also send some employees to the center so they can get expereince working with Silicon Valley tech talent.

“This partnership forms another exciting strand of our digital innovation strategy as well as providing opportunities for our people to work with leading entrepreneurs to explore new digital innovations and thinking," says Andrew Brem, chief digital officer at Aviva.
