Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection Selects ClarionDoor

Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection has selected Insured Rating, a rating engine platform from ClarionDoor, developer of rating and quoting applications for the insurance industry.

Berkshire Hathaway Travel Protection (BHTP), developed the user interface internally before partnering with ClarionDoor for development of a rate plan. Insured Rating offers BHTP a black box rating solution that has enabled the development and release of new products via www.bhtp.com.

In May, BHTP was able to launch AirCare, a fixed-benefit, flight protection coverage available up to one hour before flight departure. AirCare is a travel-protection product slated to be released under the BHTP name during the next several months. BHTP offers air travelers flight protection, which covers missed connections, flight delays and claims involving lost or delayed luggage.

"Within two weeks, ClarionDoor was able to deliver our rates without a single error or setback, while also surpassing our very high performance testing benchmarks,” said Josh Jandrain, VP of information technology for BHTP. “The flexibility of Insured Rating allowed us to make final refinements to our product and still maintain our delivery timeline."
