According to a release from Marsh, Pieroni will be responsible for the firm’s global operations, focusing on the Marsh platform in an attempt to maximize performance and deliver superior, differentiated value. Based in New York, he will report to Marsh Inc. President and CEO Peter Zaffino.
“Achieving operational excellence is a critical element of our business strategy as it strengthens our capabilities to serve our clients more effectively,” Zaffino said. “The appointment of Bill Pieroni, a distinguished industry leader with a tremendous track record in organizational transformation, will give us greater focus as we ensure that our business is well positioned to meet the evolving needs of our clients.”
Pieroni most recently held the post of SVP with State Farm, as well as part of the Office of the Chairman. Prior to 2006, when Pieroni joined State Farm, he held positions as Aon’s SVP and global CIO, as a general manager of IBM’s insurance business, as a partner at Accenture and as a consultant with McKinsey and Company.
