Chubb’s team consists of six of its most senior loss prevention experts from around the country, each with specialist designations, on-the-job training, and extensive knowledge of risks prevalent in his or her region.
With various specialties such catastrophe management; infrared thermography; fire protection; security systems; and historic homes, the team has direct experience with projects such as how to best reduce the frequency and severity of losses resulting from electrical problems (the leading cause of fire-related claims) evaluating wildfire- safe communities and the use of hail-resistant roofing materials.
Chubb team members also have expertise in water intrusion, collector vehicle storage and green building techniques.
Established more than 30 years ago, Chubb's Home Appraisal and Loss Prevention Department is the largest unit of its kind among personal insurance companies, says the insurer.
Chubb's appraisers visit more than 65,000 homes worldwide each year, according to the company. In addition to its 140 residential appraisal and loss prevention specialists, Chubb employs more than 350 risk engineers worldwide who serve commercial customers.
