Conning Joins United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment

In a commitment to support environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) principles in its investment decisions, Conning Inc. has signed on to the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI).

“Conning is proud to be part of the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment Initiative, as this further solidifies our commitment to principles that we believe in and have practiced for many years,” said Woody E. Bradford, Conning president and CEO. “Given our global presence, we feel it is necessary to more formally support the implementation of responsible investment principles throughout the world.”

The UNPRI network of international investors works together to practice six principles for responsible investment.

Signatories agree to:

Incorporate ESG issues into investment analysis and decision-making processes

Be active owners and incorporate ESG issues into their ownership policies and practices

Seek appropriate disclosure on ESG issues by the entities in which they invest

Promote acceptance and implementation of the Principles within the investment industry

Work together to enhance their effectiveness in implementing the Principles

Report on their activities and progress towards implementing the Principles

UNPRI was established in 2005, and more than 1,000 institutional investors, investment managers and professional service partners have signed the agreement.
