CSC Unveils Cloud-based Billing Application

Software vendor CSC is expanding Exceed Billing, its insurance billing application, to include cloud-based and software-as-a-service (SaaS) options. This comes just days after a recent Gartner study declared SaaS an increasingly familiar and adopted platform, particularly in the United States as a means of improving functionality and speed of adoption

This is exactly what CSC is hoping to offer as a result of the expanded offering. The company says the updates will “enable carriers to cut implementation and operational costs, expand billing channels, increase payment options and consolidate billing across multiple market segments and all lines of business.”

With such an offering, regardless of the size of the carrier, they would be able to consolidate billing processes across various lines of business, distribution channels and policy systems thereby increasing functionality and flexibility in billing.

“Interest in SaaS from all sizes and types of carriers has grown rapidly, and commoditized, labor-intensive tasks such as billing and collections management are ideally suited for this deployment option,” said Chad Hersh, a partner in Novarica’s insurance practice.
