CSE Insurance Selects OBRIEN Insurance Solutions

CSE Insurance Group, which offers P&C insurance in California, Arizona, Nevada and Utah to teachers, other educators and firefighters, has selected OBRIEN Insurance Solutions to enable its new printed and digital customer communications document strategy.

The insurer selected OBRIEN for its ability to handle CSE’s short-term need for critical policyholder communications while supporting its longer-term digital document strategy. That strategy includes improving service and efficiency to its customers; business continuity planning; reducing costs for the production and delivery of customer communications; a flexible pay-as-you-go pricing model; and improved operational efficiency for customer communications. OBRIEN’s history of working with insurers and knowledge of insurance-related communications also was a contributing factor to the decision.

CSE’s implementation began with a successful two-month project resulting in the elimination of CSE’s internal print and mail operation. OBRIEN now handles the production and distribution of critical CSE policyholder documents from OBRIEN’s Bartlett facility.

“It was refreshing to work with a company like OBRIEN who not only fully understood our needs, but was flexible and willing to work with an organization of our size,” said Larry Friel, CSE’s director, of administration and internal audit. “When we looked at outsourcing our print and mail operation in the past, the service provider was either unwilling to modify their services to our needs or they lacked the insurance industry knowledge we felt was needed to provide our customers with the high quality and timely communications they expect and deserve.

Outsourcing print and mail functions are only the first steps in CSE’s document strategy, Friel added. “Given that OBRIEN provides this service, as well as the technology and solutions we will need as we migrate to a more digital production and delivery environment, made for the ideal partner.”
