Elephant Insurance Utilizing BillingCenter

Elephant Insurance, a direct-to-consumer writer of automobile insurance, is in production with BillingCenter from Guidewire Software, a provider of flexible core systems to P&C insurers.

Seeking to replace an old, inflexible billing system that couldn’t be customized to meet the needs of Elephant’s fast-paced, highly evolving business, Guidewire says the insurer decided to go forward with BillingCenter following the successful implementation of its ClaimCenter product.

The previous system’s limitations had resulted in numerous manual processes—the equivalent to eight extra, full-time employee resources—and hampered Elephant’s ability to provide the level of customer service it wanted, Guidewire adds.

Additionally, Elephant’s IT team has rolled out greater functionality to its business users each week, including the integration of BillingCenter’s interactive voice response system, which is designed to enable customers to pay premium invoices by phone with the information transmitting directly into the product. 

Elephant already has deployed the system in two states, and is working to add a third state, Guidewire says.
