Endurance Names Sean Fitzpatrick Head of U.S. Retail Insurance Operations

Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd., a specialty provider of P&C insurance and reinsurance, hired Sean M. Fitzpatrick as president and head of U.S. Property and Casualty Retail Insurance. Endurance says Fitzpatrick will be responsible for leading an initiative to expand the company’s presence in the U.S. specialty retail market.

Fitzpatrick has more than 20 years of experience in senior level insurance industry roles and has managed and developed specialty P&C businesses throughout his career. He will join Endurance on Oct. 1, 2011, reporting to William M. Jewett, president of Endurance Specialty Holdings Ltd., and will be located in New York City.

Most recently, Fitzpatrick was a senior VP at The Hartford Financial Services Group, where he led the company's Middle Market Property & Casualty and Specialty Financial segments. Prior to joining The Hartford, Fitzpatrick spent more than a decade with the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies and its Executive Risk subsidiary, where he established a number of specialty P&C businesses and served as chief underwriting officer of the company's specialty division, Chubb Specialty Insurance.
