GAINSCO, an auto insurer serving the southern U.S., will roll out e-signatures to its independent agent force with help from Silanis.

The insurer will use the e-SignLive product to make e-signatures available through its agency portal for new personal auto insurance applications.

The company believes electronic signatures are better equipped to offer its agents and customers the convenience and ease of doing business both groups demand, the companies say.

“The ability to obtain signatures quickly and easily when selling insurance is a huge advantage for both our customers and agency partners,” said GAINSCO Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing and Business Development, Andy Jordan. “We listened to our independent agents and they told us that their business processes are changing. We have done our homework, and determined the time is right for GAINSCO to launch the next generation of services to meet these needs,”

E-SignLive will enable the independent agent and the carrier to verify a signer’s identity through SMS passcode sent to a customer’s phone, which is then entered by the customer into the transaction in face-to-face scenarios. GAINSCO says successful deployment could lead to e-signatures making their way into more business processes in the future.
