GEICO Names SVP of Southeast and Midwest Operations

George Rogers has been promoted to SVP at GEICO. He will be responsible for overseeing the insurer's southeast and Midwest operations in addition to his current duties as VP of GEICO’s regional operations in Lakeland, Fla.

Rogers joined GEICO in 1969. Most recently he was regional VP of GEICO’s Lakeland office, a position he has held since 2002. Prior, he led the Dallas from 2000 to 2002 and was VP of claims from 1996 to 2000. From 1993 to 1996, he served as assistant vice president of claims in GEICO's Macon, Ga., regional office. Early in his career, he was director of performance review and regional liability director.

“George brings a tremendous breadth of experience from having held executive positions in three regional offices as well as at the corporate headquarters,” said GEICO President Bill Roberts. “He has successfully tackled many challenges during his career with GEICO, and I’m confident he’ll succeed in this new role as well.”

Rogers earned a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Maryland, where he graduated cum laude, GEICO said. He has served on the National Association of Independent Insurers’ executive claims committee, the board of governors for the National Insurance Crime Bureau, and other industry advisory boards, GEICO said.

He also serves on the board of directors for Florida Southern College and the Chairman’s Circle of the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce. Previously he served on the Macon Chamber of Commerce and the American Cancer Society, the board of directors of Polk Businesses for World-Class Education and the United Way of Central Florida and the VISTE organization.
