GEICO Teams With Insurity on New Commercial Auto Product

Hartford, Conn. – To support the launch of its new commercial auto insurance business, GEICO implemented Insurity’s Insurance Decisions product, an end-to-end processing suite. GEICO’s initial states are in production, and the auto insurer plans to roll out the system across the rest of the United States throughout 2008 and into early 2009.

GEICO already provides auto insurance coverage for more than 8 million policyholders and insures more than 13 million vehicles. In addition to auto insurance, GEICO, a Chevy Chase, Md., member of the Berkshire Hathaway group of companies, offers customers insurance products for their motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, boats, homes, apartments and mobile homes. Personal umbrella protection and life insurance also are available.

Insurity, a Hartford, Conn., ChoicePoint company, provides software and services to the property/casualty industry.

“We wanted a full solution,” says Kushwant Singh, GEICO director of commercial lines. “Insurity offered an end-to-end solution, and we got it up and running in record time. We’re delighted to be out in the marketplace so quickly.”

“We are using Insurance Decisions for policy administration, claims management, billing, data warehousing, reporting and business intelligence,” says Jess Reed, GEICO’s CIO. “We’re also taking advantage of its capabilities for regulatory compliance and bureau reporting, as well as printing and distribution services. It’s been a big plus for us to work with such a talented group.”

GEICO sales representatives and executives access the Insurance Decisions system, hosted at the Insurity data center in Alpharetta, Ga., via the Web.
