Genworth Increases Its Board to 11

Genworth Financial Inc., Richmond, Va., announced it has expanded its board from nine to 11 directors, electing Christine Mead and Thomas Moloney as independent directors.

Mead was the EVP and CFO of Safeco Corp., and co-president of the Safeco insurance companies before retiring in December 2005. Before joining Safeco in 2002, she worked for Travelers Insurance Cos. from 1989 to 2001, including as SVP and CFO chief accounting officer and controller.

Moloney was the senior executive VP and CFO of John Hancock Financial Services Inc. before retiring in December 2004. He was the interim CFO of MSC-Medical Services Co. from December 2007, to March 2008.
