Google Compare Exec Jumps to Slice Labs -

Dawid Glawdzin, formerly of Google's insurance division, has joined insurance startup Slice Labs as director of operations.

Slice is planning to launch a digitally distributed insurance product for sharing economy participants like ride-sharers. It is backed by XL Innovate and Horizon Ventures.

“I have worked with the founders of Slice in the past and have much respect for their achievements to date,” said Glawdzin in a statement.

Glawdzin met Slice founders Tim Attia and Ernie Hursh when the latter two were at Bolt Solutions. Bolt developed integration software for the short-lived Google Compare auto insurance aggregator; for which Glawdzin handled carrier and vendor partnerships.

“We’re thrilled to have a key member of Google’s insurance team joining Slice. Dawid’s tremendous partnership and development expertise will help shape Slice’s expansion plans,” Attia added.
